QuickStart Guide

  1. Clear the ground by removing all plants and weeds
  2. Grade and level the ground 1 to 1.5 inches below surrounding paved areas
  3. Till the ground 6 inches deep to loosen the soil and provide space for new roots to grow
  4. Install sprinkler system
  5. Water the soil to ensure adequate coverage and to allow for settling
  6. Remove all rocks, clods and debris that surface after watering
  7. Measure yard area and identify sod requirements with our online sod calculator
  8. Order TurfTouch sod
  9. Rake out remaining clods, weeds and debris
  10. Spread ½ of the Wolf Mountain Products Wood Fines over the top of the soil
  11. Lay sod within 24 hours of delivery
  12. Start laying sod along the longest straight edge, such as the edge of a house or sidewalk
  13. Lay sod in rows with each piece offset from the previous row (like brick)
  14. Trim sod with a knife around objects like trees, flower beds or sprinklers
  15. Keep new sod wet for at least 10 days to help root establishment
  16. Mow after 7-10 days
